1. What HomeTarget is

HomeTarget is a directory and referral service. We publish typical cost information, connect homeowners with independent home-service professionals, and sell advertising (Featured placement) and quote-request leads to professionals. HomeTarget is not a contractor, does not perform home services, and is not a party to any contract between a homeowner and a professional.

2. No endorsement

A listing, badge or ranking is not an endorsement or a guarantee of any business's work. Verification badges mean only what the How We Rank page says they mean: we checked the stated item (identity, insurance, or a provincial licence registry where one exists for that trade) at the time shown. Where no licence exists for a trade in a province, no licence is claimed or implied.

3. Costs and quotes

Cost guides and calculator outputs are typical ranges in CAD drawn from published market research. They are estimates, not quotes, bids or price guarantees. Only a professional's own quote for your actual project is a price offer.

4. Homeowners

Requesting quotes is free. By submitting a request you authorise HomeTarget and matched professionals (at most 3 for a shared lead, or 1 for an exclusive lead) to contact you about that request by phone, text and email. You are responsible for checking a professional's credentials, insurance and references before hiring, and for your own agreement with them.

5. Professionals

Professionals are responsible for the accuracy of their listings, for holding every licence and insurance policy their trade and province require, and for complying with the lead rules in their dashboard agreement — including the auto-refund rules (no charge for spam, duplicate or out-of-area requests, wrong-category requests, or calls under 30 seconds). Featured placement is advertising and is always labelled Sponsored.

6. Reviews

Reviews follow the Review Policy. We may remove reviews that violate it.

7. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HomeTarget's liability arising from the service is limited to amounts you paid HomeTarget in the preceding 12 months (for homeowners, who pay nothing, the limit is CAD $100). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
